Anyone who likes tart, crisp, citrusy whites. If you find tangy wines sour, a Pinot Grigio or Chardonnay will feel gentler.

Properly cold, straight from the fridge. Great on a patio.
The backstory
Yes, Kim Crawford is a real person, and he's a guy. Kim, a winemaker, started the brand in 1996 with his wife Erica, who handled sales, and at first they made the wine without owning a winery. They sold to Canada's Vincor in 2003, Constellation Brands bought Vincor in 2006, and the Crawfords later left to start a new label called Loveblock. Constellation sold off a pile of cheaper wine brands in 2025 but kept Kim Crawford, its best-selling New Zealand white.
How it compares
- Kim Crawford vs Oyster Bay
Oyster Bay is a touch greener and more herby, and usually a few dollars cheaper; pick Kim Crawford if you like it juicier and more tropical.
- Kim Crawford vs Matua
Matua is a little softer and often the cheapest of the three; a smart swap if Kim Crawford is full price that week.
- Kim Crawford vs Santa Margherita
Santa Margherita is quieter and less tangy; pick it if Sauvignon Blanc ever tastes too sharp to you.
