Privacy Policy

Moxie Vino is made by Jakie Studios LLC. This policy covers the Moxie Vino iPhone app and this website. Plain version: we collect what the app needs to work, we do not sell your data, and we do not run advertising.

What we collect

• Your account. An email address, and a name and profile photo if you sign in with Google or Apple. If you use Sign in with Apple’s hide-my-email option, we only ever see the relay address.
• Wine label photos. Photos you take or upload so the app can read the label.
• What you save and rate. Bottles in your stash, ratings, tasting notes, and when you drank something.
• Subscription status. Whether you have an active subscription, handled through Apple and RevenueCat. We never see your card details.
• A device identifier. Used only to allow one free scan before you create an account, and to stop that being abused.
• Crash and error reports. Technical diagnostics when something goes wrong.

What we do not collect

No location tracking, no contacts, no advertising identifiers, no cross-app tracking. We do not sell or rent personal information to anyone.

How your label photos are used

When you scan a label, the photo is sent to Anthropic’s Claude API to identify the wine and write the description you see. Anthropic processes it to return that result and, under their commercial terms, does not use it to train their models. The photo is stored in your account so the bottle has a picture in your stash. Delete the bottle and the photo goes with it.

Who else is involved

• Supabase — database, sign-in, and file storage.
• Anthropic — the AI that reads labels and writes pairings.
• Apple — the App Store and all payments.
• RevenueCat — keeps track of subscription status.
• Google and Apple — only if you choose to sign in with them.
• Sentry — crash and error reporting.
• Vercel — hosts this website.

Households

Moxie Vino lets you share a stash with someone else in your household. Anything you add to a shared stash is visible to the other people in it. That is the point of the feature, but it is worth knowing before you write a tasting note.

How long we keep it

Your data stays until you delete it or close your account. Deleted bottles are held briefly in a recoverable state so an accidental delete can be undone, then removed. Ask us to close your account and we will delete your personal data within 30 days, apart from anything we have to keep for tax or legal reasons.

Your choices

You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hi@jakiestudios.com. Depending on where you live you may have additional rights under the GDPR or California law; we apply the same process to everyone regardless.

Children

Moxie Vino is about alcohol and is not for anyone under 21. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
